What's the content of the course?
What is the course about?
The course is about guiding you along the path to writing a creative piece.
Are you completing a course for senior study that requires you to complete a creative writing piece? Do you find that you have the ideas, but are not sure how to express yourself clearly and in an engaging manner? Then this is the course for you.
Each week, you will complete writing activities based on the principles of narrative writing including figurative language, setting, characterisation, voice, conflicts and themes, plot, structure and point of view.
The main writing strategy is free writing, a process where you write continuously for an allocated amount of time, without concern for spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.
Who is it for?
The course is for Secondary English students. You can complete this course if you are a beginning, intermediate or advanced creative writer. You can work through the course at your own pace.

What are the outcomes of the course?
By the end of the online course you will have achieved the following outcomes:
- Completed a 1000-2000 word piece of writing suitable for examination or submission as an assignment or to a writing competition. Your writing may also just be for personal use.
- Developed skills in writing, such as setting, characterisation, voice, figurative language, conflicts and themes, plot, structure and point of view.
- Developed confidence in your own writing skills and an appreciation of yourself as a writer and your stories within.
