This workbook provides students with the opportunity to explore the genre of horror by learning about the features of horror stories, including the gothic mode. Students develop an understanding of and skills in creating horror short stories for a teenage audience, including narrative elements such as characters, settings, themes and structure. Students will also study and analyse Coraline by Neil Gaiman as an example of a gothic horror short story.
